Journey Home (Daily Poem)

Have you ever strolled outside on a freezing night, feeling the cold air seep into your bones while fog hides everything around you? This gloomy setting might feel unwelcoming at first, but it was on one such night that I discovered surprising inspiration. I took most of these words from pages in my diary. I had to work long nights (years ago), My journey took me through an apartment complex.

As I wandered through the empty streets, the only sounds were my footsteps and the wind whispering through the bare trees. It felt like time had frozen, placing me in a space between what is real and what is unknown. I grew to love these lonely walks home, as my mind would be instantly it into this dark poetry place.

Often, it’s in the darkest and most surprising times that we find the brightest sparks of inspiration.
