In the shadows of the past, I tread, A former self, to whom I’m wed. Yet beneath this familiar sheen, It’s still me, yet to be seen. I’m scared to go forward, impossible to go back. I must close this scene.
Neither yesterday nor today can define, The journey ahead, uniquely mine. As stars to the heavens softly fade, I embrace the fire, unafraid. The future I shall embrace.
With every step, a brighter burn,Into the future, I shall turn. For in this dance of change and flame, I find my truth, I stake my claim. If it fails it is only me to blame.

When I wrote this poem, I was reflecting on my journey through life. We all have a past that shapes us, but it doesn’t define our entire story. Think of our past selves as stepping stones, each one important, leading us towards who we are meant to become. Embracing change isn’t about forgetting where we came from, but about valuing every part of our journey. Remember, as we evolve and grow, we’re not leaving our true selves behind, but adding layers to our story. Embrace the journey, cherish every step, and believe in the endless potential of tomorrow. Every version of ourselves leads us to the next.
